A Coastal Maine Wedding With a Colorful Twist

In planning their wedding, Emily and Hunter wanted to bring bright, lively pops of color to their beautiful private venue while capturing a classic New England aesthetic. Captured by Rebecca Love Photography, pink and coral hues dominated the day, with soft blue accents brought in to soften the design. The pair tied the knot in a waterfront ceremony officiated by Hunter’s family deacon before recessing under a shower of pink flower petals. Cocktail hour featured a lavish raw bar alongside Maine-inspired drinks while guests mingled under clear blue skies. The reception was set under a sailcloth tent with raw wood tables and chairs fitting into the natural aesthetic. Blue floral runners dressed each table along with blue taper candles and pink floral arrangements. Place settings featured white rattan chargers with coral napkins, tinted glassware, and personalized die-cut menus. After watching the sunset over the bay, guests crowded the dance floor and stayed there all night — the result of a hand-selected band the couple booked before they even picked their venue!

“I wore the Grace gown, by Kelly Faetanini, which I found at Flair in Boston. After trying on almost every shape and style, I was ultimately drawn to the clean simplicity of the Grace gown. I loved that the front was very classic, fitted, and timeless, while the low back added for some fun and flair. I was able to customize the dress, removing the jewel detailing and adding buttons down the back. I loved the way a French bustle looked with the train, and thought it complemented the venue perfectly.”

“Deacon Matthew from St. Mary’s church, where Hunter grew up and his mom is actively involved in, officiated the ceremony. We got so many compliments afterwards from our guests about how much they loved his sermon; it was thoughtful, personal and genuine.”

“For starters, we lucked out with the most perfect weather we could have asked for! It was 72 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Our ceremony was really special to us; it felt intimate, personal, and very genuine.”

“I had seen a lot of watercolor invites and the traditional blue and white palette weddings over the last few years, especially in coastal New England. I wanted something different, something bright, lively, fun – but not to take away from the beautiful natural backdrop we had at our venue. We started with a coral base color and decided to add lots of pinks with blue accents. I wanted our guests to walk into our tent and feel the energy and enthusiasm radiating through the colors!”

“Our most favorite memories would be the dance floor, we hired Clockwork East Coast before we had even booked our venue. They were incredible and created one of the most fun dance floors that nobody wanted to leave!”

“It truly takes a village; we feel so fortunate that we had such an incredible team of family, friends and vendors to help us create what was, thus far, the best day of our lives.”
