If you thought a backyard wedding at home had to be casual, this wedding is here to prove you wrong. After pivoting to an intimate wedding at the bride’s parents house because of COVID, this couple brought all the sophistication and elegance of their original wedding to the familiar setting. To the charming garden ceremony to the gold gilded dinner reception, every detail is beautifully and effortlessly chic.
The wedding date was set for October 10, 2020 and was to take place at St. Matthew’s in the Pacific Palisades followed by a reception at the Bel Air Bay Club with around 275 people. The next thing Barrett and Chelsea knew, they were postponing the wedding to 2021 due to Covid-19. Feeling attached to their wedding date, the couple wondered if maybe they should have two weddings. They had picked 10.10.2020 because the even numbers would be a constant reminder of the equal partnership they would share throughout their life together as husband and wife. A pandemic cannot cancel love, so perhaps a small intimate wedding with their immediate family and closest friends would be a perfect solution.
Chelsea had always wanted to get married in her parents’ backyard in Saratoga, CA. Now was the perfect opportunity to have her childhood dream come true. So on October 10th, in the most enchanting setting overlooking Silicon Valley, the two were married in front of 18 family and friends. Their rector from St. Matthew’s came up from Southern California to marry the couple. With such a small wedding, the couple was able to truly take in every moment of their wedding, making it the best day ever.
