We cannot get enough of this dreamy destination wedding captured by Portugal Wedding Photographer. Set at a stunning Portugal villa, this wedding is the stuff of romantic wedding dreams. A beautiful chapel ceremony followed by an intimate dinner on the lawn: what more could you ask for?
We didn’t really have any ideas what we wanted initially. We did like the idea of doing a destination wedding as we love to travel, but did not really want the tropical vibe. After doing some pinteresting we found My Vintage Wedding Portugal. It seemed to good to be true, to be able to stay at a beautiful Quinta, and have a wedding planner making all the arrangements. We quickly realized that this would be perfect for us. The historic charm of the Quinta venue, with the beautiful chapel with classic azulejos tiles, the green gardens and fountains, we felt we it would be best to just keep it simple. With classic greenery, and white flowers. Candles to enhance the alter in the chapel. The vintage furniture that was provided complemented the whole feel of the wedding.
There were a few special family heirlooms we brought to the wedding. We used the ring bearer pillow that my parents had at their wedding. I used my grandmothers white beaded vintage purse to carry a few essentials for the day. My something borrowed was my veil that my good friend wore at her wedding. She couldn’t make it to the wedding so wearing it was like having her there.
The wedding dress was found on the first wedding dress shop, and the last dress. It was a perfect fit, deep V, low back, slim fit, with delicate modern lace detail and layers, and beading throughout. We had the groom wear a classic black suit, and kept it more traditional with a black bow tie. Since it was a special occasion we had it custom made, and tailored to fit his physique.
I think our splurge was having a destination wedding, and making sure everything was organized and arranged for our guests including accommodations, transportation so their trip was just as enjoyable.
Our favorite part of the day was seeing everything put together. It was beyond any of our expectations, seeing our flowers for the first time, to the decor, the food, drinks, table setting, and music. We took special moments throughout the day to let it all sink in, including during our photo session with our amazing photographer, it gave us the opportunity to really enjoy the day.
We wanted our guests to leave with a piece of Portugal. We had tote bags made with a cute map of Portugal with significant cities on it, including the town of our wedding site. In the tote we included a bottle of Portuguese wine, azulejos tile coaster, chocolate and a cork Lisbon postcard.
