You will love the little touches of whimsy in today’s winery wedding from Caroline Dutton Events captured by Alicia Lacey Photography. The soft color palette of cream, purple, and light blue was perfect for this summer Virginia wedding. All of the lush florals really set the scene for a romantic day, from the amazing floral arch to the suspended greenery at the reception.
We had our wedding at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, VA. I fell in love with that winery the minute we stepped foot there when I took my mom there years ago when she was visiting. Growing up in Florida and being a Disney fan, I had always envisioned having my wedding in Disney or elements of it throughout so a lot of our wedding had a fairy tale theme throughout. Our colors were lavender and blue which was perfect for a summer wedding at a winery. It also had the perfect amount of fairy tale and rustic theme to go along with the winery location.
I wore my mom’s pearl necklace that my dad gave her which were her first set of pearls she owned. We also did the hora at our reception to celebrate our Jewish religion along with John breaking the glass at the ceremony.
The most important thing during our planning process was to make sure everyone including us had the time of their lives. It was very important to us that we were surrounded by our closest friends and family during this special time in our life. My parents helped us out greatly which we are more than grateful and thankful for so we splurged on good food and entertainment especially.
Our wedding flowers had hints of lavender and sky blue and white. It was a perfect combination for our rustic and fairy tale themed wedding. Our wedding cake resembled the flowers and was vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. It was so yummy!
The whole day was so memorable. From getting ready with my best friends and spending the night dancing with my closest friends and family was all so memorable. But I feel one of the most memorable moments was our first look. I will never forget the look on John’s face when he saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. It was so genuine and sweet and awe struck.
