If you’ve been loving the painterly trend in weddings, you will fall head over heels for this shoot captured by Kathy Beaver Photography! It is filled to the brim with romantic and serene details you can’t miss. From the custom monogram invitations to the live painter to the hand-painted wedding cake, every moment is a dream. But the show stealer is the stunning impressionist landscape painted ceremony backdrop!
Our theme was The Art of Weddings, which was inspired by the fine art painter Lucy Reiser’s work and the eight foot painting that she created as our ceremony centerpiece. This shoot began with the question of how we incorporate and invest in the fine arts through weddings. We wanted to see how many ways we could incorporate the fine arts in the shoot and included as many local artists and artisans as possible.
We started with a truly unique, one of a kind backdrop that could also be kept and used in a couple’s home. This lead to the commission of a large scale, 8 foot by 6 foot painting by Lucy. For this design, the ceremony backdrop mimicked the stunning views from The Greystone Inn, which is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
