Vintage Beach Wedding

Filled to the brim with eclectic vintage details, today’s wedding from Lisa Riley Photography is a vintage lover’s dream! The mint green and lavender color combination is perfect for the beachside locale.

I have always been interested in all things vintage. So there was no hesitation about the theme. Our colors were a vintage twist (faded/elegant) of our favorite colors. Mine being purple and his being green. So the vintage counterparts were lilac and sage. I grew up going to the beach every summer with my family, so I wanted to have that scenery on our special day.

I was lucky enough to have my mom help me pick out my wedding dress before she was too weak. She said it was a clear winner. I was in love with the vintage beading and details. We wanted the bridesmaids dresses to be sage and the groomsmen to have lilac details.  Our favorite parts of the day were the view of the ocean always in sight during the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception. We also loved how personable the whole day was. We invited 50 of our closest friends and family which ended up being perfect!

The most important thing to splurge on was the food and decorations. We wanted to make sure there was a variety of food for all the different guests, so we chose a buffet-styled selection with chicken and waffles as a late night snack. We also wanted the centerpieces to be most of the decoration so we selected these thoughtfully. Because we were trying to be cautious of our budget, we skipped on a videographer and made sure we had the best Photographer, Lisa Riley Photography. We knew that if we had amazing photographs, then that made up for that cut. Her photographs were above and beyond what I had hoped for.

I really enjoyed our DIY guest book. We had the guests sign a vintage globe. We loved the idea of this instead of a classic book, because of our passion to travel. We also loved the idea of using this globe as a decoration to remind us of all the special people that joined us at our wedding.
