Berry and marsala hues are our favorite for fall and paired with navy, it makes for the sweetest combination! If you love flowers, today’s wedding from the bride, Corey, captured by Amy Allen Photography is sure to have you head over heels! The hanging floral installation over the head table is so amazing! But you know we are in love with the handkerchief with pieces of grandmothers’ lace hand sewed by the bride’s mother in law. Such a lovely detail!
We wanted a space that the ceremony could flow to the cocktail hour and reception so we could spend as much time with our friends and family as possible. Our colors were navy, gold and marsala. Flowers played a big role in the wedding (more than I even intended at first) because I loved our florist and her style. The more I saw, the more I asked her to do!
My mother-in-law sewed pieces of her wedding dress and both of Joe’s grandmother’s wedding dresses into a handkerchief and gave it to me the morning of the wedding. One of my bridesmaids let me borrow an antique hairpin (flower with a pearl) and also a vintage compact for the wedding for my something old, borrowed and blue.
It was important for us that our guests see us in the wedding. That is why we did so many DIY projects and I also made a Spotify playlist with most of the music for the evening.
We did a lot of DIY projects. The groom built cornhole boards and the hanging structure over head table. The bride did all the chalkboard and cornhole board hand-lettering (some of it the morning of the wedding, which I would NOT recommend!)
Some of our favorite moments where the ceremony when we were pronounced man and wife, and the dance party with confetti cannons during the last dance (I’ve had the) Time of my Life! We wanted to make the party last as long as possible, so instead of doing a sparkler exit (which takes away 30 minutes from your reception rental) we did the handheld confetti cannons during the last dance. It was a great surprise!!
