I can think of a better way to end the week than with this adorable couple captured by Samantha Ong Photography. With soft golden light and romantic forest backdrop, this engagement session couldn’t be cuter. I love the bride’s style with her flowing blush gown and floral crown.
Margaret and Jong met eight years ago volunteering at a doctor’s office. Margaret remembers how fun and outgoing Jong was – in fact he was always the life of the party but Jong remembers how pretty she was in her white dress. Margaret admits that although she was more shy and reserved, they got talking one day when they took the bus home. Their conversations continued from there onto Facebook but ended up being long essay-like messages which kept going back and forth. Margaret would then always be excited to rush home so she could read what he had written and couldn’t wait to reply back. They just never ran out of things to talk about! Jong knew that from their talks that she was a special soul – selfless, smart, bright and just a beautiful person. Jong admits how he’ll never forget how vibrant her laughter was when he first met her and was the most satisfying sound of his life.
Jong took the first move when they met up one day, taking her hand. All this while, Margaret thought they were just friends but didn’t know how to react so she didn’t hold back. On another night, Jong tried to hold her hand again and again, Margaret didn’t know how to react so she again, didn’t hold back. But finally one night while they were deep in conversation, Jong began to talk about trust and whether she would jump with him. He held her hand one last time, but this time Margaret, squeezed his hand back and jumped. TOO CUTE! Their relationship has continued and for the last four years they have been living continents apart – Jong in Edmonton and Margaret in Sydney, Australia. They have now realized that they don’t want to push back their marriage any longer as they don’t want to continue living apart anymore.
