We are starting off the week with an ultra romantic New Orleans wedding captured by Lauren Carroll Photography. The unique venue is filled with that vintage and eclectic charm that makes you instantly fall in love. The couple stuck with rich jewel tone hues that complement the fall season perfectly. My favorite detail is the ceremony altar. I am utterly in love with all the taper candles and single flower vases.
We wanted to incorporate and embrace fall colors and textures with our floral arrangements while also keeping the look classic and timeless. Race and Religious automatically gives off that cool, vintage vibe so it made decorating super fun. Some well placed candlesticks, string lights and succulents definitely gave off a romantic feel.
Our favorite New Orleans street performers, Tanya and Dorise, helped to make the ceremony so sweet and special by playing the violin and acoustic guitar. We loved the intimate and unique atmosphere that Race and Religious provided. Our guests loved exploring the quirky decor of the two different houses and they also loved a dip in the pool after a few cocktails!
We truly wanted the ceremony and reception to feel unique and personal. We spent a lot of time adding our own vision to every aspect of the wedding. We ultimately wanted a great party that our family and friends would never forget. In the end, it turned out better than we could have ever hoped for.
Most of my DIY projects came together via Etsy including our guest book tree and handmade ring box. So honestly, I had some help haha. But we did have a great time bundling our roman candy favors and we also had our favorite wine shipped in from San Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine, Florida. We displayed family photos throughout the venue and also made chalkboards for the bridesmaids for a cute photo op before the ceremony.
I wanted to use my mother’s vintage sewing machine table to display the wedding favors. It was a wacky vision at first, but our wonderful vendors helped us pull it together. It turned out to be my favorite detail of the wedding.
One of the best moments was our first kiss as husband and wife and also our first dance. It’s moments like those that will last a lifetime.
