Fall is my favorite season because it boasts my favorite colors: jeweltones! Beautiful and rich blues, purples, and greens always make my heart sing and I couldn’t be more in love with this garden Texas wedding from Miranda Laine Photography. The florals are breath-taking! And I love the bride’s two looks with a tulle skirt over her dress for the ceremony, such a great idea!
We always envisioned getting married outside with trees and we knew that wanted to get married in San Antonio as opposed to the hill country. The Veranda offered lush trees and a close drive for our guests. We knew from day one that we wanted our wedding to have a unique vibe. Josh wanted to wear a guayabera and I wanted to wear a flower crown. Those two choices definitely helped us decide on color, style and location.
We wanted to celebrate our love with our family and friends. Although it was sometimes difficult with the tedious choices, we always tried to remember that. We knew that we wanted a vintage, bohemian feel to the wedding. We always wanted our guests to feel comfortable and have a great time.
My stepmom, Minnette, let me borrow her grandmother’s mink which kept me warm all night long. At the time, I didn’t think much about it, but looking back at the pictures, it is one of my favorite details. I’ve been told that with my flower crown I looked like a character from Game of Thrones, which I love!
I loved our globe guest book. Josh is a social studies teacher and loves all things maps. We have the globe in our living room now and you would be surprised how many times Josh has referenced to it while people are over. We love seeing all of the sweet messages and places to visit left by the people we love most!
I made a few of the chalkboards and all of the cake signs. My lovely sister-in-law made the delicious P and flower cookies that guests took home as favors. I definitely wanted a DIY vibe and I think that the little details showed that.
My favorite part of the day was marrying my best friend under that gorgeous flower altar. I can’t thank our incredible wedding planner, Tracy French, enough. She made every dream come true and recognized my vision, even when I had difficulty putting it into words. Our day was absolutely perfect and I would not change a thing.
