I love today’s sweet and intimate Arizona wedding from Jay & Jess Photography. With a small budget, this couple was able to pull off an elegant and chic event. How pretty is the soft blue and cream color palette? So perfect for a springtime wedding!
I wanted a soft spring elegance feel to my wedding. In all of my style choices I aimed to reflect that. We had blue and pink pastels, and lots of flowers and lace. Having my wedding at Boojum Tree Hidden Garden was the perfect location to bring together the ambiance I wanted.
I wore my grandmother’s pearl bracelet, and it meant a lot to both my grandmother and me.
The most important thing to us planning this wedding was first to have fun, and not stress about the process. And second, we wanted to create the elegant look we wanted but as inexpensively as possible.
Anything we could do ourselves, we did! We bought flowers in bulk from Costco and handmade the bridesmaid bouquets, my bridal bouquet, corsages for the mothers of the bride and groom, and boutonnières for the groomsmen, the groom, and the fathers of the bride and groom. We also bought a garden arch from Hobby Lobby and decorated it with flowers ourselves. Our center pieces were glass cake trays we made using candle sticks and plates from the dollar store. We collected old books and tiny candles for months before the wedding and created a unique center piece with the cake tray full of cupcakes, a stack of old books, small candles, all sitting on a lace doily at each table.
I really loved the special dances – first dance with my husband, my dance with my dad, and watching my husband dance with his mom. The dancing the rest of the night was also really great. We were having the best time dancing like crazy with all our closest friends and family celebrating with us. It doesn’t get much better than that!
