There is something so magical about winter weddings and today’s captured by Krystal Kast Photographers is no exception! With a palette of cranberry and navy, this wedding captures the spirit of the season without being overly holiday. Lots of greenery and twinkling lights make the whole look perfection.
Everything revolved around our perfect venue – Fearrington Village! Cory and I visited and fell in love with the look and feel and knew right away that it was the perfect spot for us to get married!
I included several heirlooms. The first is a Norwegian brooch that has been in our family for generations. My cousin used the same brooch on her bouquet at her wedding, so I continued the tradition. I also wore a pair of my mother’s pearls as a bracelet. Lastly, and probably the most meaningful was the use of my grandmother’s family Bible. Our minister used it throughout the service and it was such an amazing reminder that our marriage is centered around our faith and family.
The most important thing for us was remembering the purpose of the wedding. When we would get caught up on details we would take a step back and remember that it was about celebrating our love with our family and close friends! We wanted our wedding to be welcoming and fun! We had family and friends travelling from all over the world, so we wanted them to be a part of the wedding and to know their presence was truly special.
Fearrington is very classic and warm and we wanted our wedding to reflect the same. We envisioned a “winter wedding” and not a “holiday wedding”. Navy, cranberry and gold with pops of color seemed to complement the venue and play off the natural beauty of the grounds.
The whole day was amazing! But, I think being surrounded by all our family and friends made it the best day ever! When Cory and I sat at our table at the reception, he held my hand and we took a minute to stop everything and look around and take in the moment. Never in our lives will we have this much love and support in one room and that cannot be forgotten. And, we had fun! Everyone was dancing and several conga lines broke out! It was truly a celebration!
