It’s all simple, sweet, and southern with today’s Virginia wedding captured by Kathryn Ivy. I love the neutral color palette and the lush natural florals!
I always knew I would get married at Pharsalia, a place where I grew up going and is owned by my aunt and uncle. There is so much natural beauty at Pharsalia that we knew we wanted to keep things simple with limited decor, neutral colors and flowers picked from the gardens.
My father died when I was young and my mom and aunt surprised me by sewing his wedding ring into my bouquet. My sister made our invitation and programs, my brother did all of the chalkboard designs and personalized details, my aunt made the flower arrangements, and my whole family helped setup the tables and chairs. It was a true family affair and we are so grateful for everyone who helped.
When we started planning the wedding we knew we wanted it to be one big party. We wanted a relaxed atmosphere with good food and great music where everyone could let loose and celebrate this special time in our lives.
Our favorite part of our wedding day was looking around and seeing all of our family and friends celebrating our marriage. It was such a fun and happy day that we could not stop smiling. We felt so blessed that all of these people came to support us and take part in our special day.
The next best part of the day would have to be the dancing. When we chose our band I knew they were great but I wasn’t sure how many of our guests would actually dance. I was so happy to look up at one point in the night and see almost everyone at our wedding out on the dance floor with us. I remember thinking how I never wanted that moment to end.
