We are starting off sweet and simple this week with an intimate garden wedding from Shea Christine. This wedding is so family centric and filled with love. I love that the bride chose to use her parent’s wedding colors! Such a special way to include family in your day. The groom also honored his family by having a pin with his grandparents’ portraits on the inside of his suit. You see brides pinning portraits to bouquets a lot and it is great that the grooms are joining in too.
When Alex and I first started thinking about the wedding we wanted everybody to feel like they came to our house for a family dinner. That started the whole vintage/rustic feel and color scheme with choosing my parents wedding color, peach! We wanted to update it with adding touches of gray and ivory and we could be more thrilled with how everything turned out!

The most important thing thing for us planning was NO STRESS!!! Although we had many DIY projects, we wanted it to be as stress free as possible.
We made all the stationery from Save the dates to programs. We wanted to incorporate the colors we chose as well as the venue feel. We also made all the flowers, we ordered them from local vendors to save on cost. The only ‘must have’ flower I wanted were Juliet gardens roses which our vendor was able to have flown in for us! I felt so spoiled. Watching my husband’s step-dad (hes a very burly man from the georgia mountains) and my husband help with the flowers was priceless! The day of the wedding my brothers (Doug, David and Adam) helped set-up the chairs and all the accessories even taking the left over flowers and dressing the vines behind the ceremony spot.
The memories we will share were getting everything together as a family. My ‘mother-in-love’ Susan doesn’t live around us so having her and my mom Robin together to help with all the details was truly special.
