This month’s Get the Look feature is Elizabeth Taylor in her 1950 wedding to Conrad “Nicky” Hilton.
Elizabeth Taylor is no stranger to a gorgeous wedding dress, as she took 8 trips down the aisle during her lifetime. I love the classic look from her first wedding to Conrad “Nicky” Hilton in 1950 when she was only 18. Her silk, basque-waisted gown was designed by costume designer Helen Rose and was a gift from her studio, MGM.
My favorite part of this gown is the illusion neckline with the high neck and delicate detailing. I started my search for dresses that had a similar feature and spoke to that same classic elegance that makes Elizabeth’s gown so memorable.
Elizabeth also wore a beautiful beaded crown and veil. Here are some look alike favorites of mine.
What do you think? Are you in love with Elizabeth’s look? What dress is your favorite?
