Warm up this week with this boho vibe beach wedding captured by Saltwater Studios. I absolutely love the bride’s look (the gold embroidery on that gown is stunning!) And I love her choice of a simple lavender and wheat bouquet with the fabric wrapping.
Our beautiful Cape May beach wedding was filled with so much love Sept. 12. We were married on the beach where my mom’s ashes are and it could not have been a more perfect, special day.
My color palette was inspired by Van Gogh’s Sunflowers- which I gave to each of my bridesmaids to help them find their own dress in hues of sea foam/aqua. The second color was gold- which I found sparkly, reasonably priced shoes for them in. For my bachelorette party we went to a friend’s art studio. and each painted our own “Sunflowers” canvas. I wanted them to feel beautiful and comfortable in their dress, which is why I had them find their own. Women’s bodies are all so different- and I didn’t want to dictate a certain style or price to them. Their gift was dandelion “wishes” in a glass orb necklace and I included a card stating “thank you for making my wishes come true today”.
Some personal highlights are: a poem my sister wrote for us that she read during our ceremony, the handmade “program” fans one of my MOHs made, place cards that were shells myself and my husband collected all summer long that I spray painted gold, all of the apothecary jar centerpieces made by myself, my aunt and one of my MOH’s, our custom favors to name a few.
My husband is a chef, and created his own sea salt seasoning consisting of lemon and lime vest, thyme, lemon balm and chocolate mint- which were jarred as favors. I used my cousin’s new hand stamping jewelry company to gift my father, MOHs, groom’s parents and aunt. I used our wedding date or special saying on the pieces as a special memory for them to hold on to, and to thank them for their help with this day.
