I’m seriously falling in love with Slovakia with this rustic wedding from Peter & Veronika. Who wouldn’t want to get married in this gorgeous old chapel on a hill in the beautiful countryside? Then the handmade details from the reception are too cute for words (how fun is the escort station?)
We started to prepare our wedding once me and my husband get engaged. I insisted from beginning that I would like to have the ceremony in some special place where in some way you can feel touch of nature. After several weeks and several discussions we decided to choose an ancient church on the hill which was surrounded with pine wood.
We decorated the church by ourselves with assistance of very gentle priest. The most magical moments of our wedding preparations concerned these moments, once we decorated the church while sun was setting down and following under the starlight. We decided to have celebration of our wedding outside, even many of invited guests were afraid of bad weather and this kind of celebration is no so common in Slovakia.
We celebrated or wedding in local winery, with the vine was growing above us and little lights and lanterns. The weddings are not a livelihood of our vineyard, so all the wedding decorations we prepared by ourselves. We enjoyed it a lot anyway altogether with our friends and family. We began our handmade story with wedding invitation cards, then every day we created chairs ribbons, serviettes, gifts for wedding guests, heart shaped cute things table marks etc. Great atmosphere of our wedding was upgraded by wedding band, typical Slovak songs, tasty meal and vine.
