Gold, sequins, and classic Disney quotes? What’s not to love? I’m seriously in love with this dreamy neutral Cali wedding from Allie Lindsey. It is simple and chic, but with a pop of glam that I love. And I’m pretty positive I need the mirror with the “Dream is a wish your heart makes” quote in my house.
Our venue, The Villa in San Juan Capistrano, was the perfect back drop for our day. Everything was outdoors and had the rustic charm we adore. We hung photos with clothespins in the entry as guests entered and we used vintage french doors for seating arrangements. I wore the most amazing Katie May backless gown that I felt absolutely beautiful in. My favorite moment was walking down the aisle and locking eyes with Dave. We were both smiling ear to ear and it was perfect.
For our wedding day it was important to Dave and I for it to be fun, relaxed, have great food and drinks, and have an intimate feel with our closest friends and family. We love neutrals so we incorporated a lot of white, creams, and some fun sequins to glam it up. There were lots of personal touches throughout our wedding.
My uncle married us, our cake topper (kissing geese) paid homage to my husbands nickname the goose (some of our friends joke that now we’re married we’re “the geese”), we said our own vows before exchanging more traditional ones, and I painted our alternative guest book so friends could leave their thumbprints. I love marquee lights so my husband and I created our own “LOVE” marquee sign. For wedding favors, my aunt compiled cds with all of our favorite songs and wrapped in burlap with babys breath. My grandpas walked me half way down the aisle, and my dad walked with me the rest of the way.
We love to share meals with our family and friends so opted for a family style dinner to make everyone feel at home. Our tables were lined with sequin chevron print runners and arrangements were vintage bottles from my mother as well as a collection of milkglass vases. We had the most amazing night dancing the night away and drinking champagne. One of my other favorite moments from the day is when everyone was around us in the circle belting out “Sweet Caroline”. I also crowd surfed.
Our friends sent us off with a sparkling exit, and we lived happily ever after <3
