My favorite weddings are those where friends and family come together to create a beautiful event to help celebrate a couple. This Florida wedding from Michelle Kristine is exactly that. Layered with romantic handmade details and lots of love, this is one sweet wedding!
One of the recurring themes we heard from our friends when planning for our wedding was “enjoy the moment, it goes by fast!” Well, here we are, 6 months after that day (“the best day ever” is how we typically refer to it) and we can attest to the truthfulness of that statement!
Looking back on that time, our priorities in planning were to 1) Glorify Christ as the center not only of our planning and wedding day, but as the center of our marriage as well, 2) utilize the expertise of those around us to make things as easy as possible, while still having an event that was uniquely “ours”, and 3) have fun!
In the end, it was “mission accomplished” because our wedding was more than we could have ever hoped! Of course, some of those things are more easily said than done for brides-to-be in particular (it’s hard to think of a wedding as not all about us!). But with the extravagant amount of help we had from our church family in particular (they helped us with everything, from the rehearsal dinner, to the decorations at the church and reception hall, to the dinner at the reception and everything in-between), it was much easier to humble ourselves and enjoy the process.
The wedding day itself was a day filled with joy, laughter, and thankfulness to share in the celebration with family and friends who have meant so much to us over the course of our lives. It definitely flew by! But we loved every minute of it, from preparing in the morning with those closest to us, to our first look and the joy on each other’s faces (and in each other’s hearts!), to the ceremony itself and the reception that followed. We made a lifetime of memories in a single day and are so thankful for God’s kindness to us.
