Today I’m sharing this super sweet summer DIY wedding from Brigham & Co. This wedding was a real DIY affair, filled with simple and chic handmade details. I absolutely love the bride’s vintage inspired gown!
We wanted our wedding to have a vintage flare without being over the top. Simplicity and elegance was our theme. We got married on the lawn of Rock & Rye Tavern and had the reception in their pavilion. It’s a beautiful old building with a lot of history and fit in well with our vision for the day.
The weather was absolutely perfect. 70 degrees and sunny, with clear blue sky.
In planning our wedding we put a lot of thought and effort into making sure as much as possible was handmade and/or local. We had New York State beer, local Hudson Valley food and cheesecake from a nearby bakery. All of the invitations, placecards, and paper goods were designed by me, and we printed and cut them out ourselves. It was a lot of work but tied everything together. My mother made the flower girl’s basket and ring bearer’s pillow, as well as all the flowers on the strings of lights.
