If you’re the lover of glam with touches of whimsy I know you are, you are going to fall head over heels with today’s amazing inspiration! It was all inspired by a wedding held in July 2013, 7 and 13, both lucky and unlucky numbers. The details are just amazing, especially the breath-taking ceremony set up. I can’t get over the amazing paper goods (hello gorgeous gold foil!) And the idea of doing a brunch wedding, with some Lucky Charms cereal, is so smart.
The inspiration for this shoot was the cheeky mix of superstition & luck associated with the numbers 7 & 13 – the month & year of our make-believe wedding date. We found a beautiful inspiration shot of a canopy of open umbrellas, and wanted to find a way to incorporate this traditionally unlucky idea into our shoot. We wanted the feeling to be classic with a few modern twists, and the backdrop of the historic Arch Street Friend’s Meeting House was perfect, with its original details and simple Quaker aesthetic. We used various lucky and unlucky imagery throughout the shoot, subliminally weaving each element together with subtle (and sometimes not so subtle!) pops of gold, hinting at the idea of a lucky coin or what may lie at the end of a rainbow.
