If you were looking for a gorgeous wedding today, you’ve come to the right place! I don’t think I could love this dreamy pink and gold midsummer’s night dream wedding from Emily Heizer any more! The gorgeous florals with their beautiful bright peonies take my breath away. And I don’t think I’ve seen a prettier dessert bar. I also love their intimate sweetheart table set up, so romantic!
When Evan and I started planning our wedding we knew we wanted it to be beautiful, unique, classy, personal, and intimate. We decided to limit our guest list to closest family and friends and find an original venue where we could design the entire affair ourselves. Several months before our wedding we were finally lucky enough to discover the Stone Ranch, in Lodi, the private home of Claire and Jack Stone. The venue boasts a beautiful pond, extensive manicured grounds, vineyard & barn; it was the perfect canvas to our amazing day. Together with our patient and talented wedding coordinator, Gwen Edwardson, we created a detailed and breathtaking wedding beyond our dreams.
My wedding band is my grandmother’s which was re-sized and shaped to match my engagement ring. I have always been extremely close with my grandparents, they were married for over 55 years before my grandfather passed away. My grandmother now has advanced Alzheimers so the ring is a constant reminder of both of them and the strength and effort it takes to have a successful marriage. My mother gave me on my wedding day my right hand ring which my great grandmother’s engagement ring that has been passed down to each generation’s first born daughter.
The most important and memorable part of our wedding day for Evan and I was the ceremony and incorporating as many personal touches as possible. Evan’s father Steve made our day extra special by becoming an ordained minster to conduct the original ceremony we co-wrote together.
The overall theme for our wedding design was alfresco, romance and glamour which featured hues of pink, whites, and gold with hints of sparkle and crystals. We found an amazing florist, Suzanne O’Brien (Garden of Weeden Designs) who designed elegant and romantic floral arrangements of tulips, peonies, roses, orchids and hydrangea combined with hanging crystals to highlight the natural beauty of the venue space. Chandeliers and bistro lights light up the alfresco reception. Ribbons and crystals hung from the trees, hundreds of gold and glass votives created an intimate mood, accent sequin La Tavola linens draped the dessert bar and cake table and handmade floating pool candles (designed by the groom) decorated the pool. Evan and I also DIY’d our own menu cards, cocktail sign, signature drink recipes, gold glitter and rosette votives, and memory collage re-purposed from old glass windows.
Another fun part of our wedding that proved to be the biggest hit of the night was our cake and dessert bar. Carissa the owner of Sugar and Spice Speciality desserts designed a delectable dessert bar featuring crème brulee, fresh fruit tarts, chocolate and raspberry tarts, peach cobbler (Evan’s favorite) peanut butter and chocolate heart cookies and French macarons. My mother added her own personal touch by making her famous Pineapple Pie in mini heart shapes. Needless to say, the dessert bar was ravished before Evan had a chance to snag a treat.
