Today I am sharing a really sweet and intimate Chicago wedding. The bride’s lace gown is an absolute stunner! My favorite detail is the guest book. Guests were asked to sign a paper plane and pin it to their dream destination on a world map. Such a cute idea for the travel loving couple!
We really wanted to have people at our wedding that meant a lot to us, so we kept the guest list small and really hand picked who we wanted to be with us on our special day. I wanted things to be personal with a classic touch – white and black color combo, bracelet from my grandmother, handmade beaded pouch for rings (made my Ben’s mom).
It was very important to me to get married at a church and it made it 20 times better that we got married at 4th Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue – I’m a city girl at heart and spent most of my life growing up taking trips to Michigan Ave. shopping, grabbing lunch, etc. So, the setting was perfect.
The reception venue was awesome because it was unique – I did not want the reception to be held at a place that felt stuffy or had no character. Maxims had a vintage euro feel to it which goes along with Ben and my style.
