What’s not to love about this romantic wedding at a historic Ford plant? With modern vintage vibes and a rich fall color palette, this Detroit wedding from Style & Story Creative is perfect inspiration for autumn couples!
Our engagement was very family-forward with family involvement. When we found the Ford Piquette Plant, we knew it was perfect since we could tie in my family history at Ford (two grandfathers worked for 40 years and my great grandfather directly reported to Henry Ford). It continued the theme from the engagement! We live in NYC and have a love for new foods and trendy restaurants. We were able to carry that into our wedding with the help of Andiamo and had an incredible spread the entire night.
For our outfits we did black ties and tuxes for the guys, sleek white gown with lace detailing on Alyssa’s gown, and her bridesmaids wore faux fur wraps in a vintage touch echoing their historic venue.
Brad and I had to be convinced to do a first look and it turned out to be one of my favorite moments. We were then able to spend all afternoon together with our friends and family and I’d recommend that to anyone. I also loved seeing the reception space for the first time prior to the ceremony! Hearing the guests rave about the food and drinks was another exciting part since we put a lot of time into designing the menu.
Our florals were deep red and light pink blooms and lots of greenery in the bride’s bouquet and the table arrangements. We created a wall honoring my grandparents who worked at Ford, two of which are no longer with us. We found photos of them in their offices and presented stories of their time at Ford. Otherwise, our planner Ann Travis was the queen DIY-er! She created the moss wall and incredible menu settings.
