I love a good farm wedding and this Washington state one from Blue Rose Photography is so romantic. The neutral color palette paired with the vintage details makes the whole look so dreamy. And the one long table makes it an intimate dinner that guests won’t soon forget (especially with the lovely lace runner!)
From the second we were engaged we knew we didn’t want to wait long to get married, and I had always dreamed of having a September wedding, so that left us with 120 days to plan our dream day. We also knew from the start that we wanted a small, intimate wedding that was semi-destination. So it was definitely serendipity when I stumbled upon The Wayfarer, a 100 year old orchard on Whidbey Island. Once we visited, we were both completely in love with the venue, and knew it was a special place – it exuded romance, and was so serene and beautiful – we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting for our wedding.
It was very important to us to keep our wedding personal, and true to who we were as a couple. We really wanted to enjoy the day, and celebrate love with those closest to us. After meeting Kelly, The Wayfarer wedding planner, it felt like she could read our minds (seriously.). She seemed to know exactly what I was visualizing before I was able to describe it. Over the next few months she helped us create our picturesque wedding day – romantic, elegant and chic.
It was also important to us to include some items from the special people in our lives. My mantilla veil was the same one worn by both Andrew’s mother and sister on their wedding days, and I couldn’t have planned the lace to match better if I had tried! I wore my grandmother’s watch, as well as wrapped her necklace around my bouquet that she had worn on her wedding day (it also had some lucky blue in it). Lace from my own mom’s dress was also used around my bouquet, and Andrew wore a pair of his father’s cufflinks (the same ones that he has adored since he was a kid). All of these pieces are treasures, as they brought happiness to people who are dearest to us.
The day of our wedding was more perfect than we could have dreamed it to be. When we showed at the orchard and saw everything put together, it was perfection – from the flower arrangements that Kelly had placed around the venue (they were incredibly beautiful!), to the vintage pieces which could be found all across the property, and finally to the stunning 60-person table set up under a canopy of trees with a full lace runner, flowers and vintage mismatched china decorating the entire length – everything was simply gorgeous. It was the most wonderful day, one we will never (ever) forget. We were able to spend time with our family and friends, eat delicious local food from Serendipity Catering & Events, and enjoy the fairytale setting of The Wayfarer – chandeliers hanging from trees, sparkling lights strung across the dance floor, and s’mores roasting over fire pits – it was truly enchanted.
