Rustic Fall Ranch Wedding

Today I get to share this charming Texas ranch wedding from Eureka Photography. Of course, I love all the heirloom details this couple added into their wedding day. Thimbles from the bride’s great grandmother were tied to the bouquet, making such a sweet look and wonderful way to keep loved ones close. And aren’t those red and white bridesmaid dresses perfect for a fall or winter wedding?

I chose to go with the colors of wine, claret, and blush pink. The style I was aiming for was vintage/rustic chic. I’ve always wanted to get married outside so I knew when I saw Montesino ranch that it was THE place I was going to get married. Plus we got to relax and spend the entire weekend out there. The barn was the perfect reception venue and the ceremony location is just absolutely breathtaking.

On my bouquet, I surprised my mom and wrapped some of the lace from her wedding veil on the stems along with some thimbles that my great grandma had given me. I also included a wedding bell earring that my grandma gave my mom on her wedding day. That was my something old. For my something blue, my mom had surprised me and had my new initials sewn into the inside of my dress. I had no idea it was there! She had it sewn onto a piece of lace from her wedding dress too. It was very special!

It truly was the most perfect day! The weather turned out to be beautiful. It was a sunny, clear day and it was just a tad cool at night. It was small, which made it feel intimate and special. All of my closest friends and family were there to help me celebrate. My dad was a Fire Chief at the time of the wedding. I decided to take some of my bridals in his fire helmet and formal coat. I surprised him the day of the wedding and I had never seen my dad get so emotional. It was one of those special moments that me and my dad got to experience. Another favorite part was getting to hear Drew’s vows for the first time. It was so special.

We wanted to make sure to include sentimental elements to our wedding. We chose to write our own vows so that took a lot of deep thought about what we wanted to say to each other. Also, I wanted to make sure my guests had fun! We chose to have a photo booth, lots of dancing and of course, yummy food! Our caterer was the BEST! We chose to have servers instead of a buffet, so that our guests could relax and enjoy their meal.

I could not settle on any wedding invitations on line, so we decided to make our own. We bought all of the paper and materials from Hobby and Lobby. I made the design and printed them all at home. They turned exactly how I had pictured. I also made a lot of the decorations for the wedding. We made all of the chalkboard signs and I wrote them all myself. My dad helped me make those! We got a lot of the frames from Goodwill or garage sales. I think that most of the signs were all homemade! We also decided to buy the napkins and wrap the silverware ourselves. My mom was a HUGE help in getting all of this done. Instead of having a huge cake, we had cupcakes for the guests and made cupcake holders out of doilies.

Including heirlooms was something that was very special to me. The main thing we included in our wedding was my great grandma’s china that she had given me. Drew and I ate our meal off of the china she gave to me. For all of our other guests, my mom did some major garage sale-ing. She found a ton of beautiful china and silverware for the rest of our guests.

Everything was perfect! The only thing that went wrong, was that I forgot to wear my veil. :) Such a happy day full of love and fun!
