Starting off this week with this utterly breath-taking garden wedding captured by L.A. Birdie Photography. The wedding is so intimate, sweet, and effortlessly charming, creating such a dreamy atmosphere.
We wanted our wedding to be rather small and homely. Where daylight could be enjoyed at all times and where the guests felt comfortable. We wanted there to be good food, dancing, and beautiful sites.
The invitations were DIY. I based the invites loosely on a template I found on Pinterest. And worked with my roommate (who is an amazing illustrator) to make the designs, and then I put the invites together after that.
One of our favorite moments was seeing each other for the first time while walking down the aisle. As well as seeing all our friends and family looking so happy. And while we absolutely adored celebrating and dancing with all of our friends and family, another favorite part of the day was breaking away from the crowd and taking a few calm moments to explore the outside venue together to take portraits with our photographer.
We choose to go with paler colors such as coral, blush, mint, and gold. We let the location speak for itself in its beauty, going with only flowers for decoration since the venue was already filled with gardens and antiques. We choose our ceremony to be outside in the gardens and the reception to be at the inside patio with massive windows, letting in gorgeous light.
For us the location was very important. We wanted the ceremony and reception at the same location to keep things simple. As well as a venue with a beautiful outside and inside scenery that everyone could enjoy. Gramercy is such a beautiful place, filled with gardens outside and amazing antiques inside, so much so that we really didn’t need to spend much on decorations. But the most important thing to us was the photographer that could capture a beautiful place like Gramercy as well as capture our best day together.
