Romantic Pink Summer Wedding

If you have an intimate and romantic wedding in mind, then this gorgeous pink summer wedding from Snapmotive is for you. With stunning florals (hello coral pink peonies!) and sweet moments, every image is perfection. Be sure and read the bride, Amy’s thoughts. She really hits the nail on the head in her last paragraph about what weddings are all about.

It’s a difficult task to describe your nuptials, and as I found out even more difficult to plan. How do you go about planning the perfect day you long dreamed about and envisioned from girlhood? I had two perspectives and lenses of focus in mind when planning, the bride’s and the witnesses, ensuring everyone got to share in at least a spoonful of sheer joy, romance and wonder my soon to be husband and I were creating and partaking in.

Weakness or strength, I have always been a bit of a people pleaser, and have always felt a wedding isn’t merely for or about the bride, rather it’s the one slice of sweet intimacy your family and friends get to share with in your marriage. Creating an atmosphere that mimicked the entirety of our relationship- inviting, engaging, comforting, and charming, was my main objective. There’s something refreshingly familiar while invigoratingly new found in the romantic nuance of ‘Vintage Chic’ that would perfectly capture desired air.

The most important thing I took from the wedding, besides my newfound relationship with my husband, was a lesson learned. “Time isn’t what you bargained for.” Although I would never go back in time and change a single detail, I was just shy of being six months pregnant the day I got married. I had just five weeks to plan and pull together my envision. Surprisingly, it helped me narrow down my indecisiveness to the things that really mattered.

As far as decorations, I feel like it was a conglomeration of my Pinterest hoarding! I have always loved the delicateness of femininity, and ecstatic I got the tail end of the peonies season. They have been my favorite flower for as long as I can remember. I took the sacrifice of space, so we could arrange the tables family style for a more intimate setting verses your typical round tables. The decision on my dress came from my love for the soft, lightweight edges, and the touch of vintage flare in the embroidery, and a more fitted bodice that still hid my growing baby bump. My choices were narrowed a lot for the sake of the time we had, but I felt we got the right blend of our personalities added in the mix of our decor.

The beauty of our wedding wasn’t only found in the blood sweat and tears of the details, making it picture perfect, or blog worthy, but learning through discipline to slow down and savor each moment of the day for what it is- unity of love, passion, and dedication, support and stanchion of friends and family, and celebration of life and all the joy and blessings it presents. It’s this lesson that allowed me to enjoy my perfect day, and I have carried it with me in living each moment if my marriage to the fullest.
