Dreamy and gorgeous, today’s museum wedding from Cory + Jackie is a do not miss! It features an amazing color combination: red, pink, and gold, that is quickly becoming one of my favorites. And the floral paper goods and signage? Too perfect for words!
Michael and I met rather serendipitously through medical school and pharmacy school, respectively. After dating, we took the next leap in our relationship to move to Pittsburgh for further training and school. Because we were so far from home, we planned our wedding from afar with help from Christine, our planner (my lifesaver), and our families. Early on, we knew it was important to us that our guests feel welcome, relaxed, and appreciated. Additionally, we wanted the wedding to symbolize unity not only between Michael and I, but also for our families and our cultures. With this in mind, we decided to keep the ceremony and reception at the same location so everything could flow seamlessly and each moment could have a purpose for the wedding party and our guests.
When I discovered the Indianapolis Museum of Art, I knew it was the perfect venue because the gardens were lush and it was everything I had envisioned for a romantic, elegant, and intimate garden ceremony. With our colors of blush pink, burgundy, and gold accents, we decorated the ceremony and reception with plenty of florals, candles, ribbons, and books. I wanted the bridesmaids to feel beautiful and comfortable in their dresses, so I had them each select a dress that would express their personalities. I absolutely loved the way they all chose styles and shades of pink that looked so perfect together!
It’s hard to choose our favorite parts of our day, but some of the most memorable were the first look, the exchanging of our vows, the last song during our reception, and the sparkler departure. During our first look I was so anxious I cried, but it was special to have this moment alone before our ceremony. Sharing our personally written vows during the ceremony evoked the love and care we have for each other and gave our families and friends new insight in our relationship. The last song at the reception allowed us to be surrounded on the dance floor by all the people that have supported us throughout our lives and gave us a moment to reflect on our day. Finally, the sparkler departure was absolutely magical and truly the best ending to our night.
