DIY Cement Votives

One of my favorite details in today’s beach post wedding shoot are these cute cement votives! Naturally Yours Events and Shane Welch Photography were kind enough to share instructions for these DIY cement votives. They are super cute and very easy to make. I love the texture it adds and you can have lots of fun with different colors and types of candles.

Step 1: Measure out 2 cups of cement to 1/4 cup of water. The more water the smoother the look, less water and chunkiness will give a rough look.

Step 2: Mix water and cement together.

Step 4: Let the concrete sit for a quick minute and then place your tealight or candlestick. Try to press lightly into the concrete.

Step 5: After letting the concrete dry fully, for an hour or more, cut a strip of the paper cup with scissors.

Step 6: Continue to peal the paper cups off from the votive, and voila!
