A Blue and Green California Wedding

Blue and green is a combination you don’t see very often, and definitely not looking as fab as in today’s California wedding! I love the cobalt blue centerpieces paired with the bright green florals. And how perfect are the bridesmaid dresses? I’m really loving the long sleeves!

The gorgeous bride Allie shares:

I have never been a big “theme” girl. We both love and appreciate simple design/decoration. The biggest inspiration for our wedding day were our favorite colors. We both have a love for blue & green and I based most of my decisions on that. I also knew I wanted to find a venue that was already beautiful in itself and would not have to bring in outside extravagance to dress it up. We definitely found that in Villa de Amore. From the beautiful landscaping, picturesque backdrops, and helpful staff. We could not have asked for a better day.

People remembered board: We really miss our late grandparents and wanted to create a special tribute to them to make sure they had a presence at our big day. It was so fun going through pictures of them and reminiscing about all of the good times.

My favorite moment of the day was our grand entrance to the reception. The sheer volume of our guests cheering for us was astounding. The overwhelming out pour of love and support for R.J. and I was such a profound experience and I will never forget it. All of the wooden table signs were hand-burned by yours truly and each represent a significant place or thing in our relationship. Two burnt fingers and lots of long hours were all worth this very special detail!

The best advice I can give to future brides is to stay on top of your planning! When your BIG weekend finally arrives you will want to enjoy yourself, take it all in, and get good sleep (well try to)! You will have all of your most loved ones surrounding you that entire weekend and you will want to appreciate their company rather than rushing to finish minor details that most guests won’t even notice. It is such a special time to cherish and make memories with the people you care about the most. Do the things that are important to you first so that when the BIG day sneaks up on you it will be easier to let the minor details go rather than stressing at the last minute on something that means a lot to you.
